My Fuel pump died, Ive replaced it, problem is I checked the fuse and it had blown, put another in and blew straight away even with the key off. This was a 15a fuse, so I put a 25a fuse in and the car started straight away, ran for about 2 minutes then died again, i checked the 25a fuse and sure enough it had blown. Any ideas why the fuse keeps blowing?
DONT REPLACE FUSES WITH HIGHER RATED FUSES. when you have had an electrical fire in the car with the toxic fumes from plastic melting your lungs, and causing permanent damage, you will see what I mean. Get a multimeter, (or someone who has one), and check the wiring from the fuse to the pump, maybe its been crimped or squashed somewhere and is shorting to the car body, could be a faulty pump, but I doubt it.

Ok thanks for that, now whats happening is, when I put a new fuse in I can hear the pump turn on in the engine even though the key is off. It must be a short somewhere? the fuse blows after a minute. HELP !
now check the side of the fuse that connects to power. It could be a problem with the oil pressure switch (ie. shorted), as the oil pressure switch provides power to the fuel pump too.
Its funny you say that, because the oil light is staying on when the car is switched off
unplug the oil pressure switch & see what happens
Unpluged it, put fuse back in pump is not makning a noise anymore WOOHOO So this means my sensor is Stuffed?
I owe you guys a beer, were do you live????? Placed new oil sensor in all working beautiful ! Even starts and idols better ! Cheers Guys
