Ok, so i find out on sunday night that apparently i have no brake lights, i thought a fuse had blown, replace it, blows it straight away. So i called the RAA, and they came out, had a play with various things, then he fiddled with the switch on the brake pedal, and i have brake lights again. So i drove to my destination, when i got up in the morning, i still had interior lights and brake lights, but by the time i had made it to my next destination, i didnt have any again.
So today we started to try and source the problem, cleaned all connections, replaced globes, replaced switch at pedal, and we still managed to blow almost 15 fuses with no end in sight, does anyone know why this is happening? I dont need the car urgently till thursday, then i will need it, id rather not be paying an auto elec, but if worst comes to worst, ill have to
Cheers
Doc
sounds like there is a dead short some were you will need to follow the wires all the way from the switch to the globes and look for a rubbed through patch, find out wat else runs on that fuse and check it aswell. Unless you have a tow bar if so id start at the trailer plug, check inside the plug then follow the wires up to the connections inside the car.
Have you worked on the car anywere to have buggerd a wire? Otherwise as roger05 said. start from the back and work your way back to the fuse box.

Check relay, otherwise you have a wire with a short. Trace it all the way back.
Yeah, ive followed wires all the way from lights to fuse, checked relays, ripped tha back seat out, sill covers off, the car is in a million pieces. No tow bar, the search begins again first thing in the morning, i wanna drive it again
do you have a multi meter or a circuit tester? if so you could check whether the fuse is forming a circuit with the body.
also, did you check the wiring on the other side of the fusebox?
