    Default Biggest HP VP????

    My old ride (VP V6 sdn), after some (heaps of) mods (but no turbo/super) had a pretty surprising 470RWHP Dyno proven. Has anybody else heard of a similar figure on any other VP's, or should i not have given the beast up???

    There's just one small problem I have with that. 470rwhp/ 3.8L = 124ish horsies per litre of displacement at the wheels. By comparison a V8 supercar makes around 125ish horsies per litre AT THE FLYWHEEL. Even if your 6 was a 4.3 stroker it'd still have a better power/displacement than the supercar. It'd definitely be the most powerful buick V6 I'd ever heard of and I'm damned curious to hear how you did it. I'm sure most veteran engine builders would be curious as well.

    So in short, no I've never heard of an naturally aspirated V6 with that kinda power, that's stroked/supercharged V8 territory really.

    lol, would love to see a v6 with 470hp even at the fly, formula holden v6s had 340hp and i think that was at the fly, so 470, unless it was a seriously whacked out dyno, has gotta be a load of wollop.

    til i see dyno sheets, what you had done to it, im not even going to give this thread another thought.

    You know, it occurs to me that 4 is right above the 1 on the keypad, maybe that's the problem? 170rwhp is quite respectable for an N/A V6 with a few mods.

    and my mums ford laser had 500kw at the fly wheel stock as a rock.
    dont you think if we could get 470hp (350kws) out of a n/a v6 we'd all be hooning arround in high powerd commies and i would be drivin a 6 instead of an eight

    forgive me if im wrong, but even with the heads completely ported they wouldnt flow enough to make that much power n/a....so technically its impossible to get 470rwhp with the buick engine.

    id have to agree with you on that one sircruisealotVS, hey, maybe he stuck some 87 buick turbo heads on it, those things have huuuuge ports. (been looking at them, with a bit of work, one could prolly drop a set on, but theyre big $$$ and i cant afford a "experiment" set yet, but when i do!!)

    yeah except vn2nv u should see the not soo stock ones, ports are soo big u can fit random bodyparts in them

    470rwhp???

    maybe with nitrous but definatly not N/A the heads are far too restrictive, you'd need valves/ports bigger than my left foot to get that kinda power, with a turbo that figure sounds good for like 15psi??

    if someone was to put them heads on a stock engine how much of a gain would they get? and how much on a modified? i know its no 470 haha but would be a bit yeah?

    no idea mate, no one that im aware of has done it, but as an idea, with those heads and twin turbos on the older blocks, they are getting over 1000hp easy

    yeah hakhawk showed me the stage II heads... I sat here staring for 10 minutes man... Quite impressive

    would need alot of nos.. aluminum everything includin heads and lots and lots of internatl work with wicked fuel set up
