Major Car Probs PLEASE HELP

hi, i have looked through the forum and i havent found anything.

Recently we replaced the throttle body on my holden commodore Vn. It went like a baby but yesterday we reset the computer and now the car is running like crap. Its on gas by the way. It runs like crap for both and its blowing a whole lot of smoke out of the exhaust. I thought that i would try another computer and it worked for a while but now its gone back to really bad. What the car is doing is it will jump around it wont be smooth, blowing black smoke. Ant it always has the engine problem light on now. I was thinking it could be the O2 sensor but not sure. Well if anyone could help me i would really appreciate. Thanks heaps

Is it putting out any fault codes?

black smoke is unburnt fuel.
Running rich like a bitch.
Probably a sensor of some variety, but if the engine light is on, a fault code should nail the problem.

Tried resetting your ecu again?

Thanks, i worked out the problem. their was a hose not on the throttle body properly. the error sign has gone but now it has problems starting and also changing gears. say i take off it will be in first then it will over rev before it would change or other wise i will have to let go of the throttle and put it on again. It could be that i changed the throttle body. it mite just need something dont no what though? . I am thinking of replacing the DFI Module but they are really expensive. But i will c how i go. if u think it could be this or anything else please let me know. Thanks.

Thats exactly what happened to me when I put my new TB on, car running rich and smoke everywhere. I would suggest cable tieing that hose, as it come loose.

the revving problem is easy, you havent adjusted the throttle cable and the kick down cable correctly.

the car seemed to fix it self with the gear changing prob. Now it runs like a baby besides starting but i am working on that. I just brought a DFI module so i will c how i go.
