Earlier today I found that a couple of my injectors are pulsing very weakly and slightly randomly compared to the other four. I tried replacing them with known good injectors but this has made no difference. I've also checked and cleaned the connectors on the injectors and wiring and that seems ok.
Should I start checking the injector loom or is there something else that could be causing them to be pulsing weakly? I would think it's probably the cause of my misfire too!
Any help much appreciated![]()
Anyone?.................................
hmmm from memory the wiring diagram says thay are all connected together electrically and thus they should all pulse at the same time.... when u moved em did they pulse badly in the new spots? you could also try a fuel treatment (i use Lucas twice, every 3 months)
sorry shortstuff - just reread your posting - ignore the bit about moving the injectors.... sounds like wiring....
Ok, thanks! I thought it could be that the wiring has deteriorated due to the heat from the engine over the years. Could that be a possibility?
the ecu has 2 outputs for the injectors, each driver fires 3 injectors from memory so it sounds like you either have a wiring problem or at worst a ECU problem

If i'm going to replace some of the wiring, working backwards from the injectors, where would be the easiest place to join the new wiring on to the original loom?
I'll probably be getting the wiring from the wreckers, so if there is a connection somewhere I can unplug to remove the part of the loom I need, that would be awesome. If I have to cut it and solder new connections, then thats not a problem either.
Hope that makes sense in a roundabout sort of way![]()
