Engine stalls when switching on Air conditioner

Hi guys...For some reason the engine's revs drop heaps when I switch on my A/C to the point where it pretty much stalls right away. The air conditioner works fine if I accelerate while switching it on ( the compressor kicks in ). When the car is cold the auto choke works fine ( not sure if related ).

Any ideas???

does it die if you switch on the a/c when driving down th road? sounds like the IAC valve needs agood clean and the idle reset. possibly a faulty

when im driving it doesnt die. just at idle. i was thinking that the throttle body needs a good clean...is the IAC valve in there somewhere? ill try that. thanks mate.

yeah, the IAC valve is on the back of the TB and it controls the idle speed
