Default Removing and painting window surround things.....

Hey guys, and gals, i've recently had the idea of painting the things that surround the windows. As you can see in the photos, the grey original colour is pretty dull and faded. I reckon a lick of paint, and they'll look sweet. My question is, how the hell do you get em off? I can see that the top surround is held on by about 10 screws, but i can't figure out how the others are held on.

    Cheers, Sam

You can strip the paint on the VN windows surrounds and they come up chrome.

I painted mine black a while ago, but just masked everything up with them on the car

Im currently doing this, and it looks so much nicer than the painted version.

The door trim bits just push up (front mirrors have to come off first). The rest is either screwed on or also held on the same way as the door bits depending on where it is.

Chrome them chrome them chrome them!

Thanks mate. I was gonna just go black, but i'll give chrome a go. Sounds aight. Then if it doesn't suit i can just paint over it. If you manage to get yours done and it looks ok, could you put some pics up for me.....
    Thanks

Yeah I will have some up next week.

Use Selleys Kwik Strip to get the paint off....Wonderful stuff. The one in the tin can, not the plastic bottle.

A proper paint scraper will help... And im using different grades of sand paper...working my way down to 2000 grit for a good finish.

Autosol polish followed by clear coat will get it looking nice and classy man

Alright, ran into a problem.... I got the things off the drivers side and polished em up nice. They look pretty sweet. Only trouble is i can't get the rubber bits back on. I took the rubber off so the paint stripper wouldn't effect them, but now i can't get the stupid things back on! Any ideas....
