I'm running a VQ SV90 computer (auto) in my VP 5L 5 speed (yes manual). I really don't think there is any difference, just a way for wreckers to make more money cause its 'manual so its rare'

Wrecker is looking at $$$ I think, AFAIK VN/VP auto/manual memcals are basically interchangeable, same delco computer as well I think. I vaguely remember hearing something about auto and manual having slightly different idle setups, but with both of them the auto tranny was hydraulically controlled, which is the thing that buggers things up completely in the later series. The VR is where it becomes important to have the right tune as the auto was electroncially controlled by the ECU.

Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

the ECM is the same, the memcals have slightly different tunes from VN to VP & VP has a specific manual tune, in some cases, SS is no different in any model
