Default Im not running an oxygen sensor, is that normal?

Took my entire factory exhaust off today to make way for my new pacemaker headers and custom (possibly under-diff) exhaust. I realised I never dissconected any wires for the 02 sensor so I checked over my exhaust from the headers to the Y piece and back and there isn't one. Is it an NZ VN thing or has someone removed it at some point and retuned it?

It doesn't blow any smoke or anything and drives well. Now I need to find a plug to plug up the hole in the pacemakers where the o2 sensor should be.

Yeah NZ VN's dont have O2 sensors because they could use leaded fuel.
Im not a complete idiot, some parts are still on backorder!

um doesnt matter really.. turns out i was using a broken one for a year.. it just sends feedback to the computer about fuel to oxygen ratios in the exhaust fumes.. if it sences too much fuel then it runs it more lean.. and vise versa(wateva that means) haha but if ur not running one i think it just runs your car rich.. i think i heard someone say that they purposly take them out in some cases.. but yer its a nz thing.. i found that in some countrys u can buy the exhaust piece that replaces the cat! imagine the sound youd get out of that

Damanged oxy sensor, or running no oxy can often result in increased fuel consumption. Pretty easy to replace, and not all that expensive. $60 at bursons really, just make sure you get the right one, early VN's had a single wire, later ones and VP's had a two wire sensor.

the NZ models don't have o2 sensors, nor do they have cats either. no point fitting them unless you change the memcal cause apparently they have a slightly different tune/setup also. i'm am told though that changing the memcal and fitting the o2 sensor can make them more economical.
