hey guys.. i had my aircon running yesterday.. was working mint.. i stopped off at maccas and grabbed a drink, when i went to put it back on WTF! hot air coming out! um i had it regassed just this year and tested for leaks.. and now its just putting out hot air.. does any one no whats going on with it? is there a fuse or something i might of done? without stating the obviouse solution of getting a regas.

have you checked your heater tap??? it doesnt make sense that it just stopped all of a sudden??? can you still hear the compressor clutch cut in and out???
yer i can hear something.. its like its runing for a second or 2 after its turned off.. the compressors working im guessing cause the motor still struggles when i put it on.. its like its working but theres no refrigerant. its weird and it doesnt make sence.. it had to happen on the 2 hottest days in melbourne.. i cant drive n e where with my leather interior

turn the temp dial to full cool, go out into the engine bay and make sure the heater tap is fully closed and the vacuum line is still on the actuator

its where the 4 hoses join from the water pump, its in between the drivers side exhaust manifold and the brake master cylinder.
it doesnt sound like the air con is out of gas, the compressor wouldnt cut if there wasnt any gas

i turned the dial and it seem to stay in the one position

well does the air temp get hotter at the vents when its open or does it stay the same???
no difference at all.. its all hot.. i presed it closed under the hood and it pops back so im guessing it needs vacuum to open/close?

ok, so i think somehow the control has been knock or a vacuum line split, im pretty sure it needs vacuum to open so maybe a quick fix is to take the vacuum line off the heater tap and block the line with a screw or nail and see if it changes the temp at the air vents.
blocked it haha.. if anything it felt hotter.. im thinking now that it is air con related..

is it like heaps hot or just outside air temp coming thru the vents???
im not to sure.. its hot as **** here in melb and the engines producing some massive heat even after 5 mins.. so im guessing its just outside air.. if i new a bit more about how the aircon actually worked id probly b able to check everything.. whats the blower in the passenger footwell do? and is the massive black cylinder under the hood hold the gas? the compressor could have shit itself couldnt it.. but it does put strain on the motor still so i assum its doing something

compressors rarely shit themselves.... usually its from hydraulic lockup in the compressor from when the liquid doesnt turn back to vapour before it gets to the compressor...if that happens then your engine usually stalls so i dont think its that. i think you should take it back to where you got it regassed and get them to check for a problem with the heater controls and then for leaks around the seals and compressor.
hmmm.. i wish it didnt have to come to that.. i had it done the same time as the rwc.. its like an hour drive.. in this heat haha.. i was reeli hoping to solving the problem today.. damn!!!!

A compressor will stop working if it is too hot.
to see whether the heater valve is working turn it all the way to cold and feel the copper pipes ut the left of drivers feet. turn on cold b4 start car and run it for a while 5 min or so and when u touch them u'll burn your finger if u touch it for too long (96C or something) if that is the case its heater valve. to see if its getting cold touch the thingo in the left corner of engine bay closest to passenger side there is this alominium contaner thing called an accumulater i think(just follow the pipe from the condenser if u cant find it) that gets freezing if its working.

yer see thats not cold, its staying warm.. theres cool air when its on cool and hot air when its on hot.. but no freezing air
