Default questions about vn wheels and brakes.

    hi.
this might sound like a stupid question,
but do vt ss or vy ss wheels fit on the vn stud patern?

i remember hearing that they changed it somewhere but i cant remember when? like i think vp is different to vr but im not sure.

    and what about the brakes?
is vl the same as vn and vp?
did they change the brakes at vt?

    cheers.

The stud pattern never changed. Offset is different between models, but the stud pattern is the same across the entire commodore range.

Brakes changed alot. Most models differed in brakes. VL's are different yes, and VL's had drums on the rear, not discs. The brakes changed in the VP's as well, VP Series 2 I think got the VN FE2 brake setup.

VLC & VKC Had disc rears, so did VLT & BT1's. Also V8 maybe? So not all VK & VL's are drum rears.

commodore brakes are fairly much the same from VL (turbo) through VP( poor at stopping quickly). some early commy's had rear disc brakes. depends on the model/options really. VR/VS had slightly bigger rotors but used a different front strut/hub design (and wider front track)and arent interchangable to the earlier model. VB-VP had the same strut design and are all interchangable. VT and up they changed the brakes again with larger rotor/twin piston caliper setup and the rotor has a slighlt different offset to the earlier VR/VS setup(some say that you can however run VT rotor/calipers without a spacer ring that they normally recomend on the VS). the VT setup can be fitted onto the earlier commodores with and adaptor hub and new brake lines. it will increase your front track width by about 10mm from memory. PCD is the same for all commodores up untill the VE where they have changed it. there are 2 basic offsets for the wheels, one for I.R.S (-26mm ithink)and one for trailing arm (-42mm i think) setup, they were listed somewhere in another thread but i can't remember them all. i'm running VT SS rims on my VN and i don't have a problem but when i used the wheels of the missus car (VR clubsport wheels) they rub a little.
