    Default camshaft

    hey guys i was wondering if putting a new camshaft in me vp would be worth it, and would i have to replace anything else to make it run beta?? does it make much of a noticable difference to them???

    you gotta give us some more details mate eg you running a 6 or an 8? budget etc.My camshaft iinstall with twin 2.5 mandrel exh, with chip, cold air k&n, hsv air box cost close to 5k with tune all new parts.roller master,crane springs and lifters. etc etc

    How did your car go after that, is it a V6?

    Going by the fact that his username is Evil_SS and that he had a twin system fitted I would assume it's a 8....

    well SS only come in v8's which mine is, except a very limited run of v6 VP SS's which ive only seen 1.

    well as for performance it made a huge diff in low doen torque and overall power.Having a twin 2.5" is probably a bit large for my car and definately to big for a v6 but i chose the twin 2.5" coz i now have a come stroker kit and dual plane manifold to go in.

    ye twin 2.5 is pushin it for the v8 but for a v6 its worse to have that on then a smaller, 2.5 is pretty much perfect for a 3.8 litre unlesss its got some major modifications

    I have heard all different things about exhausts but i'm going to try something alittle different with my VR, twin stock cats, 2.25' twin system, straight-thru and ressie on each pipe

    Looking at CAI, extractor, cam and headwork and a tune. Maybe one of the stroker cranks for the 6's aswell. Don't wanna have to replace it all later, so do it right once.
