fuel pump?

is the vn ss fuel pump meant to be the in tank type because mine isnt in the tank? mine also never stops pumpling(motor not running but car in on position) not sure if it never reaches pressure or if there meant to be like that. thanks.

the V8 models run 2 fuel pumps, one in the tank and then a booster style pump just hanging in front of the tank. normally ifyou turn the key to on but don't start the engine you should hear the fuel pump pressurise and then stop

mine dosent stop maybe its not pressurising for some reason. under the bonnet there is a hissing noise is it possible that it is pumping air out some where and thats why it dosent pressure up? it still runs but i havnt ran it for long and only at idol so it probably hasnt used up much fuel. also there is one of my pipes from the fuel tank diliberatly cloged up for some reason not sure if that is how its meant to be but i dont think its meant to be like that because its cloged with a bolt.

just wondering is the fuel line that comes from the fuel pump meant to go to the left hand fuel rail (mine does) and the return line to the right hand fuel rail (as mine dose also)???

also what makes the fuel pump stop when it has reached pressure? is it something built into the fuel pump or something else??
