Hey guys just wondering what temp the thermostat on a s2 vp motor opens up at? i heard some where that you can buy ones that are fully open at 82deg, is this true?

I'm just tryin to figure out a few little things i can do to help reduce onder bonnet temps(as it gets pretty hot under there) for when i get the blower on.

Opening Temp 89 - 93 º
Fully open at 106º

I dunno what the stock one is but maybe 190F if you are going to run boost try one about 170-180, 180 is probably ideal as far as power vs oil temp vs engine life goes : )

i beleive the standard one is 196 degrees F but you should be able to get one thats 180 degrees F (82 degrees C)

I recently changed the thermostat and got a 82 degrees C, good for hot days in summer.

Where do you buy these cooler thermostats?

pretty much from every auto shop, just make sure that they give you the 82 degree C and is about $15. Dont forget the gasket aswell.

Then again when I asked for washer jets... Stupid people... what worries me, is they install stuff into cars

go to repco mate there the place. just ask for a cooler one. i think ts dt22b bp the part number for the standard one get an 18 b bp or something
