my paint is really bad, like most vn's and want to put a new kit on it and get it resprayed what is the av price for a respray these days, im in canbeera so if anyone can help that would be awesome

depends on many things, just like anything. plus the price differences from place to place differ due to competition and stuff...so a small town smash repairer will charge more than a guy in the city...catch my drift.
but to give you a ball park figure, a full same colour respray for your car and to spray the kit, with all prep work done, you'd be lucky to get it done for less than $4000.
if you want some fancy different colour your looking at alot more money, because changing the colour properly means everything needs to be sprayed (like engine bay, boot, inside of doors...and so on) where as a same colour repray can usually just be confined to the exterior without the need to do all the tricky areas which require you to pretty much strip the car back to its bare bones.
also if you are handy enough and can strip and start prep-ing your car for the spray painter to finish it off you can save alot of money, it takes time to strip a car and they will certainly charge you every penny for the time it takes them.
just for a same colour respray you would need to remove - bailey channels and door rubbers, door moulds, door trims, door handles, window trims, badges, head lights, tail lights, boot garnish, front and rear windscreens and rubber seals, some places like you to take out all the seats/interior...so you get what im saying, your stripping it back completely.
and because you'd be putting a kit on it, you'd take off the front and rear bumpers as well...as they arent needed.
so as much prep work as you can do will save you money, even going as far as rubbing back the old paint, if you are comfortable doing it.
another thing, dints and other body work that will need fixing will also obviously add to the overall cost...sometimes its cheaper to buy new hanging panels if yours are in bad shape and need lots of work, new ones are pretty cheap.
anyway, hope that helps, its hard to give an idea of cost, bodywork and spray painting is a hard thing to estimate cost on.

What I'd be doing, is calling around and seeing what price you can get. And don't be afraid to bargain to with them. You can bargain for anything these days. Thats how I got my brand new fuel pump for $70.

well i could just strip her back myself and maybe even put her in primer but im just not comfterable spraying myself i dont want a bad finish and im the bad luck king so its most likely ill have runs coming down the side of the car,so if i prep everything rub it back put bodykit on prim everything what do u reckon it would set me back to get a professional to just spray her up shouldnt be do much considering it would take an hour to spray and pay for the paint. anyone done this before

It wouldn't cost to much if ya did it that way, it's take 5-6 litres to do the whole car, but you'll have trouble finding a spray painter willing to paint if you do the prep work, coz thats what will decide on how it comes out an if you do something wrong it could cause cracks or bubbles in the paint, and it would make the painter look bad.
