    Default major problem

    i just out a vr motor into my vp. i was told and thought eveything would be fine. had a flat battery so when put the jumper leads on smoke started coming out of the excelorator cable near the throtle bodies. engine lights and interior lights come on when key is not even in the ignition. just wondering if any body might no whats going on.

    u use the proper jumper cables that have the surge protector on them...

    if you dont have these they can cause damage to your elcetric and specially your computer. All your sensors will become out of wack and may not work again if not done properly.

    I would say that the earth strap between the engine and body is not connected so the only earth was through the throttle cable which will not handle the amps required to turn the starter motor. The throttle cable might have melted through a wiring loom somewhere so it is shorting out.
