nah i only want the chipboard stuff, the metal is fine just the chipboard looks all water logged and chipping away.
cutting the metal is structural damage u will be ****ed if u get defected

the 6x9's were too deep i think they hang under the metal i just got my car roadworthied and they didnt even say anything, the speakers hang lower than the metal and i dont know if u get f*** up in canberra for that kinda shit we have pretty good rules here, put yeah i will just get a new parcel shelf from the wreckers for like 20 bucks that will do for the time being
ok heres the scenario your driving along and you get hit in the back 1/4 either side the cabin will follow suit cause the structuality (new word) of the parcel shelf has been seriously diminsied due to the cutting
with the parcel shelf still intact the car would probly just loose the crumple points only
1 i say your life your risk
2 i say in vic its highly illegal and your car can be black listed for an offence like this till its either rectified or they will never let you register it again (happend to a couple of mates)
its not just a bit of metal with a larger hole in it its a ###n safety issue for you and your passengers
get it fixed mate best way to go about it then worry about the chipboard shit that NO ONE likes

yeah feel dick tho
You get defected for that parcel shelf and your car is pretty much a write off. Thats structural damage and it will void any insurance also.
yes thats true i forgt about the insurace side of things either get it fixed which is gonna require an engineers or get ya money back if you take it back and go to get your money and he doesnt cough it up take it to small claims its an open and shut case he sold you a dangerous unroadworthy structually unsound car you have the win from the start

^^^ What he said. It is ILLEGAL to sell a defective/unroadworthy vehicle.
what from a private seller? thats only car dealers. i just got new speakers put in a day ago and its my mates dad's shop and he didnt say anything, they were gonna cut the metal in my magna. but seriously when i got my roadworthy which was 3 weeks ago, they checked everything and said nothing about the metal whats the go with that??? im not taking the car back as i really cant be fudged as 2 months ago i bought a vr and the tranny went in 3 days then they put another one that died two and then another but then the motor stuffed up im sick of dealing with cars already ive had 4 cars and ive only had my liscence for 4 months
TIS BULLSHIT
so this is illegal???
thats what i thought coz ive seen heaps of cars with it done, but yeah probly did make it sound worse than what it really is.
I cant see a problem with that.
Australia. Love it or leave it
lmfao thats factoiry there are 2 metal circle plates that u can knock off which is legal lol ots so the speaker fits that doesnt look too of been cut and if it has its very minumal

man u mofos had me scared i was thinking of dumping the car lol cheers for that
No its all people. It is illegal to sell an unroadworthy vehicle without the buyer having knowledge.
Believe it or not, all cars sold over a certain amount... I think 4 grand... actually come with a short warranty too (30 days or something). This also includes private sales, not only car yards.
