FOr a 16 year old vn ss would you recommend running a cleaning product through to clean injectors or get them done properly.
Properly done it cost's $400 bucks.. Does anyone think its worth it?
Note that it probably hasnt been done in 16 years either..
well for 400 bucks id get new ones im from melbourne and i know i guy who fully does them for 30 bucks an injector holden sell em brand new for 100 or so but you can get them cheaper
That $400 would be for an injector flush - they usually flush the entire fuel system (injectors, rails, lines).
My mechanic did mine about a year ago for $200.
haha mate, get a
9V battery
2 wires
can of carby cleaner
and spray it in the top (out of the car)
then pulse the injector with the battey, it will do a ace job.. trust me on that
do you have to replace the o rings?
take it in and get a carbon clean done we do them at work for about $180. i did my vn 5ltr and it ran heaps better after that
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

new ones are cheap as hell, unless you find a better price than $400 id say to just buy new ones
i would maybe use the injectors from a VT if you decide on new injectors. They spray better but the milage from your first tank will be ugly. Then it learns it all and she will run better than ever.
If you use a cleaner, go the Holden top end cleaner. $15-$20 from your parts shop. One of the best on the market. The Subaru cleaner is very good too but is used differently.
Tip a can of the Holden top cleaner into 38lts of fuel. (about half a tank). Then put some fuel in straight away to wash it from the filler pipe etc.
Or spend the dollars on a propper injector clean from an EFI service joint.
All options will get a good result (some better than others) than running it as it is now![]()
