Default Need help with intercooler piping!

hey guys, intercooler piping is done all except where it connects to the throttle body its a tight 90deg bend, i was gonna use a 3" 90deg steel bend but its too big, even when cut down, and the silicon bends are like $100?!!!

my setup is pretty much identical to RAREVP (i didnt really copy you but it was just the easiest way to do it!!!

Note: turbo isnt bolted in, its sitting there so it will sit higher, just waiting for more welding (wanted it postioned
and ill have a heat shield between air intake and airpipe

    heres some pictures

last picture is RAREVP's setup, i managed to grab a look at it last VSS cruize

maybe just get a bit of pipe with a nice mandrel bend in it and weld it to your other piece of pipe with a silicone reducer connecting it to the tb?
are you using 3" piping? what size is the throttle body? 2.5"?

nahh throttle body is sneaky, its like just over 3" which means i cant get silicon on it GRRR!!! my intercooler piping is 2.25" from the turbo (2" outlet) then hits the cooler and jumps to 3" (for air velocity to fill up the cooler.... thanks luke :P)
then 3" to the throttle body and 3" exhust from the turbo back

i got a piece of 3 inch silicone hose on my thottle body. put it in hot water. before you do that, shave the inside off on at angle.. not too much. i didn't even cut through the first layer.. then when it is nice and warm it should slip on.. it will take a little bit of anger to get it on though.. i cna't remember who it was, but they said when ya get it on there don't EVER take it off.

a 3 inch 90 degree bend will work fine just make sure you dont need to take it off.

Have you got the intercooler mounted?

also dont have so many silicone joins every time you boost it one will blow.

already 1 step ahead, what you do is tack the piping, in 4 points
then force the silicon over it then put the clamp on so the clamp cant go past the welds = no more blow offs!!!

3" 90 degree bend, what kind of material ?? steel or silicon???

because im not %100 on the angles and stuff, silicon is the easiest way because then i can ajust it later, and its more welding that isnt nessecary,

yeah got a 90deg silicon bend priced up... $60 soo that should work

moved the coil packs today (grounded aswell)
with longer spark leads.. its all time...

    Engines move.
Intercoolers mounted to the chassis dont.

Without silicone or rubber bends, you will find yourself continually fixing cracked pipes and welds.

Kind've the same as if you have an exhaust without a flex pipe.
