    Default Confused. Need Help

I currently own a vp v6 sedan and i want to change over the engine and gearbox to give me at least 300kw. Just wanting to know what engines would fit and what would be the best easiest and most affordable option.
    Thanks

for that power you would prob have to go for a 383 stroked 304 with all the goodies, that would be the cheapest and easiest option, but you could also toy with the idea of a gen 3. It would be hard to get those numbers out of a six but do-able

you'd need to upgrade the brakes, and maybe tyres to comply with engineering standards

other than that 300kw at engine or wheels mate?, a worked 8 will give you that,

the LS1 put out 220kw dont they?? @ flywheel, so thats only 80 off it, add a new cam, rockers + valve springs and retune it (LS1 edit + retune for goodies) that'd get you over 300kw... or simply a LS1 + LS1 edit can get you 300kw @ fly..

its not just rip it out bang it in, you'll probbly need a new diff, tail shaft, wiring loom, ECU, kframe, engine mounts, radiator, brakes (as mentioned before), instrument cluster modified, physical gear box (inside the car), throttle cable (longer one) air filter... it will add up quick, before you know it you've spent $15,000 on the car..

if you want a 8, sell your VP and go out and buy a 304i and work that (maybe $1500-2000 of work to get 300kw @ fly)

or you can turbo your 6 and build the box and get the same power. to do it properly to comply with engineering and EPA expect round $10,000,

my turbo setup has cost me $2150 already, i still need a 3" exhust + highflow cat so probbly gonna spend round $2800-2900 on it...
then transmission... it all adds up and power isnt cheap... if your going to work a car N/A make sure its a 8 or atleast a Ecotech, as the buick 6s only really go fast with boost..

hope this helps but it will cost you alot.. as i said.. power isnt cheap

Questions. How? What can you do for that price to get that much power? COS THATS IN MY BUDGET! (after all, I don't need 2 lungs.)

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention in human history, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila.

I agree with Paradox. Sell the 6, buy an 8, work that.

although it would be easier to get more power out of the Gen3, it would be cheaper and easier to do a conversion to a stroked 304, everything bolts straight up and no stuffing around with custom parts
