was browsing ebay today when i came across this vn, now if you take a look at the interior pic you will find an aftermarket B&M shifter, but why is it so far back where the center console once was? can anyone figure this out? the only thing i can think of that it must of had a box change, but still it would be a pain reaching back behind you to change gears etc.
Dont know if I'd buy that one - very sus.

lol i would be to scared that i would try to get in the car, miss the seat and the shifter goes straight up my ass, i aint into that kind of think lol. not a good idea putting it there.
Prob the same box, just put shifter in stupid spot.Maybe he has the seat that far back he couldnt reach it in the normal spot.
I think the shifters are cable opperated so it could be set in any spot.Ive had a B&M shifter before and it ran off a cable.
That looks hell dodge... the fact they just removed the centre console area too..
that does look dodgy and not veyt neat how the consol was done. although it is a fair good sleeperbut not for 5g thats stupid
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
damn thats far back, looks dodgy
hahaha maybe it belonged to a muzza before hand? had his seat to far back to reach like adam 69 saidhaha
its from a dealer so you wil never know why that mofo sits there, looks pretty shit to me .
those shifters normally come with a 5ft cable so you could drive it from the rear seat if you wish. if i my seat would go back any further i too would be sitting in the back seat but i've got a manual so that doesn't solve my problem of the shifter location. i was thinking something along the lines of this B&M short shifter

the shifter looks like a b&m pro ratchet and it looks like it was put in for some one in the back seat to change gears
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

Get yourself a stock shifter and knock a grand or two off the price and you have a instabeast, it looks the part anyway
there cable driven and need to be mounted on a flat surface so instead of replacing the brass plate that the shifter gates sit in with a flat one he has just mounted it further back but still would be very uncomfortable and will probs get u a defect
did anyone save the pic of the weird shifter, case its not on ebay n more...
If you do things righ people wont know you have done anything at all...
yes it is
i just looked then
maybe the cop {ex-chaser} was very tall and had long legs and long arms so he could still reach the wheel and change the gears![]()
and i suppose the location of the new shifter was for weight distribution?![]()
lol that is so dodgy..... he probably didnt have any sheet metel to make a new base plate for the shifter so he has jus put some holes in the trans tunel and bolted it down... that would be so annoying to shift

With VLDAvo & brohawk the ProB&M Ratchet needs to be mounted on a flat surface, BUT! This is a dodgy job. like they have just thrown it in there without the skills, experience or patience. Refer to Scotts V6 Vengence. Its teh same shifter. they took their time and money installing it the way it should be done. The dude would rather loose his centre consol.. then taking time to cut out a couple of inches from where the normal shifter sits.
This is a simple conversion, you remove the old shifter holder, and using the old plate, trace the shape onto a new peice of flat metal, drilling the holes in the same place etc.. etc.., poprivet that back over the hole including some automotive silicon to keep it sealed & mount the pro-ratchet onto that, next all you have to do is modify the consol cover-plate to fit the new shifter. Its a simple modification if done correctly.
