Hi all,
I'm planning on rebuilding a car (not a Commodore) that has a 5.0 engine transplanted into it from a VN Calais, which effectively has two looms - one from the 5.0 to the ECU only (Holden loom) and the other for lights, central locking, power windows, etc. (non-Holden loom).
What I'm thinking of doing is replacing the VN loom with a VP Calais loom, so that I can get the engine immobilser security, remote keyless entry, remote boot release, etc. from a BCM.
Maybe I could even hook into some of the other nice features in the VP Calais loom such as power windows working for a bit after the engine is turned off ...
I don't think I can use a VP 3.8 Calais loom, so I will need to get a VP Calais 5.0 loom, is that correct?
Has anyone done this before? Are the VN and VP looms similar enough so that I could use a VP Calais loom on a VN 5.0 engine?
Thanks,
I dont think the VN Calais has a BCM.... thats compatible with the VP
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
take the vp bcm as well.
We got rep back, yaaay!
Cheers, thanks for that.
So will the VN Calais 5.0 engine work with a VP 5.0 Calais loom and BCM?
if you change the entire vehicle harness, effectively making it a VP
the binnacle controls are different as well
theres probably more small differences too
