yes the alternator has to come off.
the metal pipe into the front of the manifold has to come off (replace the "O" ring!!)
the rubber hose on the front of the manifold has to come off
the bolt in the tensioner can stay there just pull back on the tensioner pulley with a spanner & drop the belt off.

    did the wifes car yesterday.lol

Yeah man get the new gaskets for sure. If it will cost more to fix the manifold than getting a better condition second hand one just get the secondhand one. You can get them for 30 bucks or less sometimes

You have to apply silastik sealant (RTV Silicone) between the joins of the blue rubber seal and the intake manifold gaskets. Also, the manifold bolts need to have locktite applied to them. Make sure you apply the correct torque settings to them.

Not a bad idea to invest in a workshop manual like gregory's. It will give you a step by step guide

:S I never did this on mine, it doesn't leak though, better not start either because I don't want to take that off again before I sell/throw it out

I dont think it would leak very much anyway, probably more or less just sealing the engine up
