buy a second hand one from a wrecker... its too much effort to fix and will cost just as much in materials anyway

had the same prob with my vp exec. removed roof lining and peeled off the fabric (pretty easy as most of it had peeled already) and used an aerosol spray-on glue from 3M called Spray 90 (or something similar) to reattach the lining to the backing board. i did not use enough glue i think and it has started sagging again. cheers.

na you dont need to pull the window out, it'll come out through the front doors. Like i said its really not worth fixin when you can buy a perfect one for $70 or so

Hunt around the wreckers and get a good one from another car. They are easy to change. It looks like a difficult job but is fairly easy.I did this bout a month ago and all went well.
Where are you from?might be able to help.

no you dont need to pull the window out, just roll the front seats flat & get a mate to help you manovure it out. You will need new material.

If you do a search there is a hundred threads on how to do a VN/VP rooflining.

Isn't it? For $70 you can get new foam backed velour and some glue and have a decent looking roof.

Whats the point of buying a second hand one when its going to do the same thing 12 months down the track.

If you put in some new stuff it'll last for the rest of the life of the car.

well... despite what some people said i pulled the roof lining out of the calais with the intention to fix it, after spending 40 bucks on quick grip etc etc. getting the glue every where, i just bought another 1 from the wreckers. much easier!

why sammy B do you love talking about my car. My car owns all!!! Wait til Xmas, you'll see, you'll love my saggy roof lining, alarming engine tick, whining power steering, scratched alloys, dodgy paintwork, scraped bumper, ****ed up windscreen, dodgy windscreen wipers, leaky sunroof, funny plastic thing sticking out of window, broken interior light, broken fuel gauge light, broken A/C, dicky brake lights, loose handbrake, not working cigarette lighter, 45 degree camber angle, bald tyres, oil stains in carpet, chocolate liquer smell in boot, no lights in boot or glovebox, internal coolant leak, at least 10 screws from somewhere on my back seat, dodgy middle seatbelt, broken alarm, not working central locking, not working back power window....i think that might be all.

The important thing is that I've got new speakers in the back, and new ones coming for the fronts. And big plans for a sub and amp....get excited!

Ohh Cogez, BTW, your passenger seat belt buckle doesnt work, your rear right fender doesnt line up straight, one tail light is brighter than the other, your glove box is still broken from when I tried to fit too many beers in it, and I accidentally set fire to your seat with a firework on midyear leave whist you were sitting in it, and you didnt notice. Sorry.

Ah Cogez, we love the car anyway. Just think of it as unique. Say you did it all on purpose to make it kustom, uleh.

At least you didn't get the glow-in-the-dark fluid from a glow stick spilled across the back seat - sorry to that taxi driver, it was an accident, really.

LOL that's absolutely classic! You know I love your car. It's the same as my VN only cooler and with even more things that can possibly go wrong, due to it being a Calais! Wait til Christmas for a sub and amp and any other audio gear you need, I have a guy here who will take good care of you.

OK that's just cruel... but incredibly funny!

That whole section is the funniest thing I've ever seen on JC. Honestly.
