Exhaust tail section photos (diff back) are what I need. I have a VN2VX bodykit and I'm wondering how I should go about getting the tail section of exhaust piping done . . . I've had two quotes, one mentioning mandrel bends quoting $150, and the other saying work on around $80, presumably not quite such quality work.... I'm interested to know what other people have had done.
Cheers
Sam
Who put the bodykit on? They should have done it for you.
Just a mandrel bent peice so it comes out at the right angle, my VY rear bar has the same issue, was done for free by ASV (mandrel bent), so I doubt $150 is a good price, otherwise ASV woulda said do it yourself.
I got the kit put on in Canberra by NewGel ... four days before I left Canberra for Perth. They fitted the bodykit on a Saturday and didn't have time to fix panel gaps and fitting issues, let alone sort out the exhaust. I'm staying in Perth for the forseeable future so NewGel aren't really an option . . .
Is it worth using mandrel bends just for the tail section?
Re mould the kit

mmmmm i don't even want to think about what's involved there ... much money i'd imagine ...
i didnt have any problems with this on my car, must be a vn thing.
my tail pipe was coming out of the gap in the kit perfectly...
id say instead of spending the $150 or so just to fix you problem, to get a whole catback system fitted up, they'll sort out everything when they install it and you'll have some better performance and a nice exhaust note....thats what id do anyway.
That's a brilliant plan. Oh wait, I've already got one lolComplete with nice exhaust note and fuel economy boost ... At least the note WAS nice and burbly but now with the exhaust unbolted just behind the rear axle it's just a headache-inducing drone. Loud, but it's definitely a drone. I don't really like it at all. I'm going to try to get it sorted out on Tuesday or Wednesday - stopped at lights with the windows open the cabin fills with exhaust fumes lol ... not good.
I had the exact same problem and i got the middle remoulded for the exhaust as i had to take it off i got pics of it cut just not remoulded,.
before
after
Hopefully dylan has pics of the rear bar now?

Hmm. Fair enough. I like where it comes out with the kit how it is though, so I think I'll just get a custom tail section made up.
By the way, jstpozn, I'm impressed - a VN with four working taillights![]()
