    Default Polish Them Covers!!!

hey, i got bored today as i had it off work, ive had this spare set of rocker covers for ages, i painted them not that long ago to discover one was cracked in several places, i started on it ages ago and finally finished em today...

these are Series-1 are Alloy, series 2 are plastic, soo i took a wire brush attached to a power drill.... heres the results

they could probbly use a bit more fine work, but yeah

If you want a mirror finish (like I did with my catch can) you need to use wet and dry and work your way up to 2000 grit before you polish them, to take all the fine scratchs out.

No way to protect them really. Polish them up, then every week wipe them down with some water and a little metho mix, and every month or so re-polish them.
Heres a pic of my catch can, not a perfect mirror because its round.

autosole, and different grades of sand paper, more effort then they are worth, better of painting them i think or leaving them like urs they look allright dull, i used paint stripper to get the paint off

Over a painted finish its fine, you won''t notice that it has yellowed. May I ask why you put it on any way? My calipers are painted in VHT and its as glossy as all buggery.
As for why they sell it, theres millions of products on the market that dont meet people expectaions and standards that sell daily.

so when it gets dirty, i can clean it a bit easier than cleaning crap off raw aluminum, and it will stay looking nice.

Correct. Using a metal polish in effect seals the surface. As I said I wipe fingerprints and dust off with water and a little metho in it (helps the water to dry quicker and leave no streaks), and repolish every month or so.
