hi guys, i have a vp calais v6 auto and was looking to convert it to a 5 speed manual, is it tru that u have to change the engine aswell?
mate there are 900 threads on your question just search it up. it will give you all the info you need dont spend 2k on a conversion sell your car and buy a manual.
it woudn't cost anywhere near 2000 to convert it. unless you are going to pay someone else to do it.
also ya can't just buy a vp calais manual.
you will be able to use your motor. it is only series 1 vn's that have the different crank
but yeah. search this forum. there is soo much info on this sort of thing.
your better off finding a vn/vp manual for like $800-1000 and use that to convert it, then wreck the car for parts and recover your money
thats what i did - except the donor car was my written off VN S pac. If you use a VN as the donor car, you will need a new flywheel - as the VN engine is 6 colt, but the VP is 8 bolt. But you can use the same T5 gearbox / clutch / pedal box etc in the VP
Mate i know exacty what you mean about buying a VP Calais manaul. THEY DO NOT EXIST! Well... except for mine, and in the future maybe yours...![]()
Theres many manual calais now.... many many many many many many many many many many many
did i mention there was many?![]()

hey guys i own a 92 vp berlina auto and want to convert it to a manual. does anyone no what parts i will need and how to install them.
thanks
depends on what series you have, you will need a new tail shaft, gearboc, clutch, clutch cable, 6 or 8 bolt fly wheel depending on what series, there are alot of conversion kits going around for about 600, if your looking at doing it yourself you will save about 800 but all up you would be looking at just under 2k for the conversion.
