Hey, well I’ve been bowsing this forum for a good 6 months now.
I have a vp wagon 91 which is in very good nic.
I have fitted cruse control / stereo (6x9's and 12" sub in custom box) / and yet to fit level 3 dash and a few other bits and pieces.
anyways I have found a few threads on car alarms but nothing to in-depth. I was wondering if anyone has installed an alarm themselves from a kit or similar. Im not after anything too flash just one that will make some noise if doors are open.
If so can anyone recommend one?
Thx
it really depends on what your after
i have a vn and installed a paging alarm with central locking for under 250. which is about mid range there are alot cheaper alarms out there but i have had bad experiences with them alway stuffing up after a while
Idenity Crisis
VN toyota lexcen/Holden Commodore
Vr Front end, Vs interior and a calais dash
Also cheap imoberliser's have a habit of stuffin up and leavin you stranded, u could try evil bay bay might find some thing decent.
Installing them is a piece of piss!!!!
Well if you know the vn/vp wiring setup and your ok at soldering! They jsut hook up to negative door switches and knock sensors... Seen em done, to easy. If you do it yourself, you know how to hide things better too... Run some custom switches and such. Alarms start at 200(anything under isn't worth the time) and range to 800... depends on the features your after!
aZk.
yea thx, the car allready has central locking and imoboliser. with the central locking would i have to wire the alarm to each doors lock or just one, anyone know? its the standard setup which came out with the vp exec late 91
