door handles

my door handles are faded and when we paint my car is there any special paint needed to paint the door handles to blend in with the paint job?
last time i painted plastic it melted.

Did you prep it last time? or just paint on the black plastic.

Well that's why they stuffed up, You are meant to prep/undercoat them, like you would on any panel of the car.

You can't just paint over them..

Give them a scotchbrite, then whip down with some prepsol. Then hit em with two coats of plastic primer, the first dusted on and a heavier second coat.
