    Default Odd harshness (v6auto)

    Hey all

Got a bit of a weird problem with my vn lately. About 70% of the time, the car feels very harsh, doesnt want to rev, feels slow, and rather kinda "tight", in the sense of a manual fees "free" when you throw the clutch in.

The odd thing is that most of the time as soon as i stop, turn off the car, let is sit for a minute, then start it again, it feels fresh and normal again.

Its a series 1 vn v6 auto berlina, with nearly 400K on the clock. No fault codes, still goes ok when its running properly.

    Thanks for you help

    Its basically stock:
    -oil replaced prolly 2k ago
    -clean air filter
-plugs and leads about 20k ago
    -new TPS and MAP

    home made CAI
    stock exhaust (-resonator)

perhaps fuel filter? i would have thought it would be consistant though.

    thanks

definitly put a new fule filter in it and run some injector cleaner through it also, the fuel system is comonly overlooked at service time

ill do that when i get some free time thanks.

im thinkin that its more likely to be something different however. im thinkin more along the lines or a sensor or the auto playing up. my reasoning is:

bad sensor/auto > reducing power output> use more pedal > auto changes differently, holds gears longer.

then letting it sit for a while make the sensor/auto work properly again.

any idea what sensors would cause this? i was thinkin maybe knock sensor gettin triggered by a loose timing chain, but it should only retard it for a second right??

    thanks
