Rego and Insurance..

hey guys and gals.

just wondering if i could get some info on what registration and insurance might cost for a P-plater, for a VN executive, series 2.

what kinda money have other P platers here paid for insurance on their VN?

if anything, some links would be handy

rego $220 6 months here in WA and 3rd party insurance $180 a year

I have to get rego for both my cars tomorrow and here are the prices for SA:

3 Months: $170
6 Months: $331
9 Months: $486
12 Months: $639

It is the same for both my VN and my VS. 3rd party fire and theft on the VS, $440 a year... VN is $680 because its modified I guess.

473.30 for 12months. i have two rego's due on the 29 of this months. won't that be fun. i am in the counrty so it mayt be cheaper than the city rates. not sure if that is how it works in vic or not. i know when i use to have sa rego it was cheaper if you were not in a metro aera

My registration costs me about $350 every 6 months.

I pay $560.20 a year for rego (vic), it's sitting in front of me, gota be paid in 5 days. My insurance is about $280 a year 3rd party. I'm 29 though. P plate insurance is usually a bit more, well, anyone under 25.

im in syd, and theres not much between it, mine in about $560 but thats rego and CTP (Compulsury third party) and its pretty much half and half. i dont have normal insurance as they want something like $3.5 grand as i drive a V8, another thing with nsw is you can go to there website, so have a look on vic roads it might have approx pricing, thats the best i can do

you pay a bit more than me being in a metro aera. ya need someones address in the sountry so you can get cheaper rego..

i got advised to talk to RACV for insurance, but i still have to work out how much its gunna cost for rego.. just ring the RTA i guess..

Rego is still over 300 with a health card, the 165 will be for 3rd party insurance, it was about 110$ a year on my VN here

i am pretty sure if you are on a full time pension you only pay for the insurance. but i will double check. as i know someone who gets it for the cheap cheap rate. not jsut the health car card rate..

Road Tax would be around $520-530 in geelong as it's cheaper then cars from Melbourne as it doesn't matter the type of car it is as they priced it by area. As for insurance third part fire and theft would be under $400.
Just car and AAMI has a quote system on there website.

ive been searching for online quotes, and the cheapest i have for third party is $249 from AAMI. RACV was expensive ($556), so i tink im gunna stick with AAMI lol.

car is nearly ready for rego, all it needs is roadworthy.

i dont get it cheap cos i dont have a concession card or similar..

apparently paying for the roadworthy and rego for a year will only be about 600 altogether, which isnt too bad i suppose..

your cost of insurance does actually depend on your location.

when i was living in hervey bay it was roughly $17, i've now moved back to brisbane and it was brought up again, obviously they believe i have more of a chance having a crash/getting my car stolen in brisbane, which is fair enough because it is probably true...

i pay $360 for 3rd party per year, and im 19 and thats unlimited modifications...

excess is close to $1450 tho.... after you pay $850 excess you learn not to crash :P
