    Default VP Dash Wireing

    Hi All,

I have a VP comma and putting in a level 2 calais cluster dash in place of my normal vacationer dash.

ok want to be able to use trip computer etc..

i have all set of new left and right button blocks and noticed wont just plug in they are different to what i have

3 plugs on left and 2 on right but calais are reverse and 2 buttons different.

i was asking if anyone had a full wireing diagram for a vp so i redo to suit new calais blocks + doing connecter 4 on dash.

vp calais dash is a bitch because you have the bcm to deal with

when installing a vq stato dash into a vp exec i ran into a few problems. the vq switchblock had buttons that didnt click in. they sent a signal to the bcm instead. the vp exec switchblock has buttons that stay in once pushed. when i installed the vq switchblock, the dome light, and whatever other buttons were on there, no longer worked without a bit of modification to the wiring. this was a few months ago so i cant remember what i needed to do to get it working

all my buttons are solid state when u press they go in except the trip buttons and cruise buttons & antenna

its a vp calais dash with surrounding blocks
i checked already little different to what i have
and i have a vacationer which is like a S pac with elec windows cruise etc...
i already have dimming light after exit car, 10-20 secs light turns off (standard)
dash works 100% straight in except had to change plug 1 pin 10 to 11 for left blinker and works fine with standard blocks,

dont want to risk putting other blocks in until i know cause they different and don't want to fry anything. thats why after complete wireing diagram for vp calais and vp vacationer so i can modify without frying it

    thanx for quick reply

easiest way is to take the new dash and the old dash, look at the back of each, and see if they both match up. you will see sections on there where they say which pin on which connector does what

    ok cool

but that part is fine (except speed sensor via ecu error) fixing

my problem is only the blocks wireing. (left & right)

i get the speed sensor problem as well. its probably due to broken lines on the circuit board on the back of the dash cluster

i done this in my vp (put in a vn calias dash) and yea i had the issue of my exec dosnt have a bcm but the car i ripped the dash and switch block out of did, i ended up keeping the ond circuit board from my old switch block and bridging it to the new one so i got the light delay.

with your switch blocks, pull them apart and if your any good with electronics follow each track on the board and see where it goes, then just compare with your old switchblock and 'break' or bridge any tracks that need changing.
