opened my passenger door today. saw this black thing i aint never seen before on the chassis above the link that holds the door opened. i pull it off and there was a keyhole there but my keys dont fit it. what is it?
It's the override key that turns on the factory immobiliser.
Mine didn't come with anything either. Went to holden with my VIN#, they ordered the remote, sent me around the corner to a locksmith who cut the override key from the code holden gave me. A couple of days later I had engine immobilisation, all good.

so holden will give me a immobiliser and a key? do u have to pay?
anyone????
Oh yeah,
The key cost me $30 to get cut and the remote cost $110 from memory.
Worth it in my opinion. You could also spend a little more and have a whole new system fitted.

Would my VN hav this?
My dad's VN exec doesn't. Neither does my mate's VN calais.
Have a look. Open your passenger front door and look for a black plastic cap. that pops open and has a keyhole inside.
