got an aftermarket oilpressure gauge put in a few weeks back, and today (and once or twice before now) it's bounced a bit on idle, not constantly bouncing, mostly hovering on 60, then dropping to 40.
anyone know what could cause this? blocked galleries or something? i was considering running nulon oil flush through it, but not 100%
should i be worried? anyone had any probs like this?
when teh oil warms up it will drop. if you are talking about psi i would say your oil pressure is fine..
i would expect about 50psi off idle, say over 1500rpm. at idle i wouldn't expect more then 10-15psi. i'll check my manual when the old man brings it back next time

oil pressure is pretty much in line with the gregories advice, but what i mean is that the oil guage actually bounces, a bit like this image of a vacuum gauge except it hovers on the higher value (60) for longer between going down to 40.

i don't know why it would bounce but it is still good oil pressure..
that is weird, never seen anything like that, oil pressure gauges normally give a constant reading with rpm. weird

i woudn't worry too much about it. you are getting more oil pressure than i am..
