I was cruising down the highway today in my VP when I heard clUINK@ and all the doors locked automagically! I thought as you would that there's a ghost in the machine but I unlocked them again and kept on driving. Later in the day I went to drive the car and it all was good until I got to the petrol station and went to leave. I started the car, vrOOommPRomprompromp then I hear this sound liek crayz high pitched annoying pain in the ass sound eeEEeeEEEeEeeEeEeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE comming from under the dash? in my brain? all around everywhere? then I noticed a previously unkown dash light! that says push remote button?!@ but I can't push the remote button because the remote has never worked. ARGHHHHH. Has anyone ever seen such a weird thing happen in a VP? I can't handle driving around with this sound because it's going to make me crash, so I had to wind my window down turn the music on and drive out of every intersection sideways at lots of of revs so I didn't have to listen to the crazy high pitched freaky sound. Anyone knows how to fix it ? because I have no idea

Maybe your car has been invaded by those ghosts in your shed windows...
But I've never heard of that light before. In any commodore...

Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
That's really weird that the security system would spaz out like that without activating the immobiliser. Tried the obvious yet? ie. Have you disconnected the battery to reset the ECU?
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

Have you got the key for the passenger door pillar to turn it off?
if you have the immobolise key turn it in the on postion, turn the car on and start, turn it off and turn the key to the off postion and see what happens.
We got rep back, yaaay!
Yeah, if mine does that it won't start. Mysterious window ghosts invading security system indeed.

The switch has allways been off, that's the weird thing. At least I've learned how the whole thing works now. I had no idea the key in the passenger door had anything to do with the remote. I'm going to try fix it later today, I left the car at my parents because it was driving me insane
I can see how it'd drive you insane too. In the odd event I forget to hit my remote the beeping makes me nuts in about 2 seconds.

yeh use the red key and turn it off from the door pillar cos i dont have a remote but if i wanna use immobiliser i just use the key and it works fine and if its on the PRESS REMOTE light will come on and stay on till u turn it off by key
"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"
Well I switched the key in the passenger door on and off a few times then left it on and now it makes the proper beepy noise and the remote makes it go away too, so it's all fixed. I haven't tried it back in the off position to see it it still makes crazy high pitched squeels but since it's working with it turned on I may as well leave it on![]()
i had that noise once. was when i was installing a level 3 dash and forgot to change one black wire out of connector 3..
lol, thread closed indeed :P, threads don't close, someone else will have the same issue one day
i was going nuts in my vp when ever i would boot it something would go beep, beep, beep, loudly till i found out it was just my headunit reseting from when it almost falls out (wasnt bolted in properly)

i read on here the override switch goes faulty, so get ready for the problems to start again sometime!
man im going to give you the techinical way of fixing it...........
BASH THE HELL OUT OF IT TILL IT STOPS...
or just replace the beeper speaker
i have seen this in a few vps (lexens) and its usually the system decides it wants to be in use again and pops that little light up. the last one i fixed i just changet the module
the light and alarm were std on the lexens
i know this is closed but i had to add my 2 cents
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper
