Question A couple of quick questions

Hello, as th forum title suggests, i have a couple of quick questions i need to ask

firstly, i recently removed the center console part of my car, where my stereo and aircon controllers are for th car, to install a new headunit in my car, i had to remove the aircon controller aswell, to get access for th cables for my amp, i thought removing and replugging back in would be a simple plug and go, but for some reason this isnt the case at all, when i plugged the power ones back in, and then the black rubber tube plug, i noticed that a) there was a hissing noise coming from one of the tube thiings when not plugged in, and when i plug it back into th right spot, the noise is still there, quiter, but still there as well as the vent selector isnt working i.e. i cant choose where to circulate the air, to put it as window dimister etc... can anyone tell me a reason as to why this is happninign?

my second question has to do wit th starting of th car, its been playing up lately. Everynow and then (on the rare, and unwanted occasions) It makes weird noises starting, or it wont start at all, if i get it to start then its fine after that. some people have suggested the battery terminals need replacing, which ill do next week, its a new battery in there as the last one went dead about a week ago...

if the battery terminals dont fix it, what oter problems could this be, im just getting suggestions, so i can start preparing for the worse, if need be

thannks for your time and input

    Hey,

Yeah, ran into the same issue but not as bad with mine. The black rubber one is a vacuum hose, and the selector uses vacuum pressure to move the bits around to select where the air goes. If it's hissing I'd say it's leaking, and not generating any pressure, hence why you can't select anything. The first thing I'd try is re-fitting that hose with say a bit of selastic or some sealant that will help make it airtight. Hopefully the vacuum pressure will increase and you'll have all your selections back.

Yes, replace the battery terminals, if you're being told this by many. It can help dramatically.... otherwise, I dunno...

    Best of luck pal!!!
