um mate i presume u mean CAI (cold air intake) instead of CIA (central intelligence agency) lol. well from what ive heard the standard VS CAI and a K&N panel filter is the best way to go for all round performance, pods suck hot air when sitting in traffic so they dont do wonders for you engine. im thinking of doing a hybrid- VS CAI with a pod sitting on the bottom of the air box and the top removed so i have the cool air comming from the front and the better induction from the pod.. do a search, this has been covered heaps of times before mate
cheers

i would say the pod is better, though i yhink they are illegal without a sheild or somethin around it. i have they cai but i am goin to a pod for the induction note that you get from it but either way they are both good things just depends on wat you like
yeah true. ok dont quote me on this but from what ive been reading around here, pods are NOT illegal as long as they are fastened correctly, ie: not hanging loose in your engine bay, heat sheilds have nothing to do with it, they just give your pod a cooler pocket of air to draw into your engine...

I've run both setups, including running a pod over the bottom of the airbox with CAI installed. The standard airbox and VS SC CAI with a K&N panel filter I've found to be best for me. The pod is fun though. They sound great.
But yeah, this one get's covered every month or 2. Lots of opinions out there.

was reading an old post by sircruisealot...was wondering if anyone had tried putting the pod throuhg the skirt below the air box to make it look legal???
As far as I know they're legal as long as they're properly restrained and mounted.
I'd be hesitant to run it anywhere under the car due to all the crud that would be sucked onto it. I dunno... to each their own I guess.

i think it has to be heat shielded too.
