    Default read read read!!!!attempted theft!!

my car was broken into last night by none other than a fricking commodore owner! being a commodore owner and a member of this forum i warn you all to be very aware of the people around you! around 2am this morning whilst on the toilet, i hear my best friend racing out the front door to put the fear of god through a couple of low lifes who thought they deserved my car more than i did. after completely stuffing both front doors in their vein attempt to get into my car, they ran over 100 meters in about 3 seconds flat to hop in a dark coloured vp ss! i do not hold anything against any commodore owner in anyway over this at all, i would just like every one to keep an eye out for people like this cause unfortunately this type of stuff happens way to much! im sure you will take all this in your stride and please remember it can happen to anyone! be careful! the incident happened in glenwood, just near parklea markets in sydney, if anyone knows anything about this, please tell quakers hill police or speak to me in private through pm. cheers

    That sucks mate.

People shouldn't mess with other people's cars (or anything else for that matter).

Mine gets the odd attempt at a break-in from time to time too.

that sucks.. lol i live in an aboriganal comumunity in northern western australia.. my commodore has never been touched *touch wood* stuff livin in the city. Get yourself setup with a blackwired alarm with touch & knock sensors They are readily available on eBay for about $300, installed mine myself, if there is the slightest bump or knock to any windows it sets off a warning alarm *no joke - the knock Sensors where a pr**CK to install. hell if a truck drives past while my car is parked it sets the car alarm off.. Dont take security lightly.

Some people are just dogs with no respect for anyone else's property. I'd like see how they'd react if they car got stolen or broken into.

At least you stopped them before it was too late. You were luckier than most.

I just find it funny the amount of people who can't get into VN's
Someone tried getting into my SS but couldn't. I've gotten into a VN that many times (my VN Calais when the remote was playing up and would not unlock the doors) with a piece of wire in about all of 2 mins.

Simple...........dont drive a commodore! 95% of them are the easiest cars to get into.

You have a point Airstrike. The most targeted car for theft is the Holden Commodore. It's a risk we take to drive the cars we love.

Besides, isn't there already a thread (in the pub i think) about ways to secure your vehicle?

its good if you lock your keys in your car, just ask a fellow VN owner if you can borrow his key.. bahahah my key opens countless VN's

a good alarm system never goes astray,

my car was attempt to be broken into lately, they mananged to butcher the boot lock... to this dismay, someone already had a go at it with a screw driver and rooted the lock so i unclipped it ;P so its only got remote release, found the boot lock on the nature strip......

ive got a little hidden switch on my ignition line, and i remove my memcal when i leave my car for the night, only real way to steal it over night is to load it on a flattop

Could be worse. A friend of mine has an old Celica that could be opened and started by anything vaguely key shaped. (the locks are changed now so it's alright)

My old VH was the same. Unlock with anything. Be it another key, a pair of scissors, a screwdriver, a knife...And you didn't need anything to start it. Just trun the ignition barrel and away she went!

PaRaDoX616 u remove your memcal if you leave it overnight? how long does that take to remove that?? i have heard that the best way to steal a vn go thru the boot, kick down the middle seat then start it with the air con control, to go from hot to cold! now that really sucks

HAHAHA People can try that in my car all they like, but they better be able to kick through a gas tank before they get to the flap...... SEE! LPG IS A SAVER! SAVES MONEY AND YOUR CAR! hahaha.... and as for my lock i know people wont be able to get through that because it looks like my lock is surrounded by some sort of metal shield, my steering column cover doesnt go on straight because its that big

the quickest way ive ever done it when we locked out keys in the car was just smash the plastic bit in with a hammer and then replace the whole thing later *rolls eyes* haha

That sucks! ppl pinching other ppls cars that took us ages to get e'm!

If i ever caught some bastard trying to steal my car i would get some big black bastard to butt **** him down the driveway in front of all his m8's lol

so have you guy's got dead locks fitted to ya cars?

My calais has an immobilisation alarm system but it also has dead locks.Once you lock the car with the remote you then put ya key in and turn it anti clockwise and what that does is completely disable the locks from functioning, so that the door's cant be unlocked from inside or out!

My VS was stolen and taken for a joyride but it was my fault. I was working on the car that day and had the spare key, I went out the back and left the key on top of the fridge in the carport right in front of the car. Next morning I went outside to get the paper and there was an empty space where my car was. Luckily it was found about 2 kms away in an empty block behind a house. Only cost me 2 rims because they buckled them when they hit the kerb getting onto the block. 2 weeks later I put a remote garage door on my carport and put gates up. May not stop it entirely but just makes it harder to get at.

My vns been broken into twice, both times they went for the ol' screwdriver behind the lock trick.

If you have central locking replace the front door handles with some from the rear doors (without the lock in them). Wont stop them bending your door skins, but they wont unlock it.
