    Default Overheating problem

    Hi All,

Got an overheating problem on my Injected 308, the heads are ported, and it has a stage 4 cam.

The radiator is new, the water pump is new, the thermostat was the first thing to be done, heads have been pulled of to check gaskets, heads are off to see if maybe warped.

There is exhaust gases running through the water in the radiator.

Anyone have any ideas as to what i am looking at, crack in block or heads or something else.

    Regards,

    Sasa

They ran a test which changed the color of the water, which tells you it has the exhaust gases running through it.

Is this possible, or is my mechanic, buying time.

so they did a chemical test. its a special chemical that changes from blue to green to yello depending on how much exaust gas is flowing in the air in the cooling system. if your mechanic has told you it has changed color it will most likley have a blown headgasket or a cracked head.
did you pull the cyl heads off your self or did your mechanic pull them off?
if you have pulled them off your self i would sujest you have a look at all of the tops of your pistons and see if they have been "WASHED" look cleaner than the other pistons (this is because the coolant gets in the cylinder and boils and removes the carbon. it also steams it off). also look between the valves in the heads (cumbustion chamber) for tiny cracks that run between the valves (in the smallest part between the valves)
let me know what you find an i wil be abil to tell you what you should do next.... if your worried about the heads get them crack tested and acid washed
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper
