My VP key doorlock entry fob has been dropped. I think the RF transmit frequency has changed (adjustable by a trimmer capacitor inside). Does anyone know the RF frequency used - probably about 430 Mhz? I have a scanner receiver and could possibly reset it. I cannot get it to work even with a new battery. Als, there is a 7 digit code label on the integrated circuit within the fob. I this its programming code. If so, how con I reinialise it for the car's sender and receiver which I assume is under the bonnet somewhere? The remote fob is a single button type.
Hope someone can help. Thanks.
The anti-theft module is up under the dash above the heater gear on a VP, impossible to get to without ripping the dash out.
I'd get a new remote, about $110 from holden, save yourself the hassle.

Frequency of type 1 security keyfob is 315 Mhz. Adjustment is by trimmer capacitor on printed circuit board. Very fine adjustment is required to get it on frequency with an insulated trimming tool (it is not frequency locked by a crystal or surface acoustic wave oscillator). Central locking will only work when security over-ride switch is in 'on' position (located passenger front door pillar). Once keyfob works, you can buy from Jaycar Elecronics a remote learning keyfab and clone all your settings from an existing good keyfab into another one for a cost of $39.95. This is a cheap way of having another brand new keyfab available and at a far lesser cost than when Holden had them available through dealerships. To get your keyfab on frequency a frequency counter/scanner is required. Alternativey, take your non-working keybab to the vehicle and adjust the blue trimmer capacitor with an insulated trimming tool until, while holding down the remote button, the doorlocks open or close.
Thanks for posts.
