Exclamation Oil pressure switch or something worse?

I have a VN S1 wagon and the other day I gave the engine a clean at the car wash place with the pressure washer. Ever since then the oil pressure light comes on! When I switch the ignition on the light is on. Straight after starting the car the light goes out then after about a minute the light comes back on. And it does it every time!

Have I just stuffed the switch or is it telling me there is something wrong? The car still goes as it did, the oil level is correct, I have unplugged the switch and left it a day to dry out but it is still the same!

    Any suggestions are appreciated

its likely the switch has failed
pretty common with over zealous engine washing.lol

could this also be a cause for the oil light to be coming on randomly? mine does it fairly often.
If so, are they easy/cheap to replace yourself?

Hi, I did this as well but with a degreaser first then a hose to wash it off, it stuffed the sensor.

if water got into it you may not need to replace the sensor, make sure there is no water sitting on the connecters / pins etc

dont panic... i have done the same thing a couple of times.... overzealous degreasing/then water hosing has caused the problem. After it all dries out it comes good. Note that even if you have damaged the switch, it is only a (approximately) $15 holden part - mine was weeping so i replaced it. And its only a 15 min job. pete
