hey, i recently started to turbo my car, now it wouldnt build revs and was running rich and not firing properly
so i ripped all the turbo gear off for now untill i can get it running right
the coil packs are grounded in 3 places
2x chassis
1x battery
so thats not the issue,
i think my leads are stuffed as i saw a huge spark come out of one of the plugs when i tried to fire it, could one of my leaks be blown???
it dosnt start at all now, when i had it half working i could rev it in netural but stick it under load (in gear) and it would crap its self and miss fire etc..
also could it be my oil sensor? as the wiring on it is brittle (well the plastic sheidling anyway)
any suggestions are welcome... just so theres no confusion its currently stock as a rock, could i have blown a coil??? ive had the coil packs for about 1 year and all the coils were new...im out of idea and tiered and a little bit drunk
im gonna go play some pool now.. please help! this is day 5 of trying to figure it out
man start with new plugs and leads. then if that dosnt work change the coil pack. the oil pressure sensor wont make it run funny, also change your plugs.
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

I have to ask.....you have the leads on the right plugs?
get new leads and get a good set of plugs maybe try some super6 ones, or gap urs down abit sounds like an ingintion thing
Yeah it sounds like this or the spark plugs have been hit by the manifolds going on and off and they may be cracked and sparking to the block not the end of the plug.
Oil pressure switch does run through the fuel pump relay from memory so the car should start and die.
pull the plugs and tell us the colour.
wrong lead order is also possible!
oh also, if it has been a spark issue - like swapped around leads, or busted leads, or faulty coil pack...
then some of your cylinders haven't been firing right... maybe your plugs are now fowled so they won't sparky at all.....
ok
leads are brand new (longer leads)
plugs are 1 month old
ok would it rev with the wrong spark order but a similar order ?? ive had it started with the wrong order before, it would explain alot
ill go out and make sure the right order is right
Well, wrong lead order is possible, if you got two arse around it would definitely cause a problem, you'd hear it at idle though, it'd sound ****ful. From memory you had a 5cyl VN for a while (might have been someone else though) so you probably know what that'd sound like.
Did you fiddle with the ignition timing at all? If you retard the timing too far it wont rev and will blow some smoke.
If you saw some crossfiring from your leads, I'd say it's a good time to change them, have a close look and see if there are any chalky deposits on the leads, if so then it's long past time to replace them. Also pull a plug or two and check what colour they are, if it's anything other than a healthy tan brown or maybe light grey then replace them buggers too.
After consultation with our most esteemed colleague Xcop5l, some other possibilities are,
1- deaded coil(s) due to lead crossfiring, incorrectly gapped plugs, wrong lead positioning or just plain weirdness.
2- deaded DFI module, weird symptoms for that though
He also informs me that he's currently talking to you anyway so this post is now just to relieve my boredom, so there.![]()

heheh ben is a top bloke and yes i did have a 5cyc v6, this is diffrent its like one is sparking but not %100 so its half igniting which cause late detonation, i was running a 2 bar tune with a 2 bar sensor but i reverted to 1 bar and a stock tune still having issues
leads are new
plugs look blackish...
im gonna do plugs tommorrow and try some other leads
also ill find a DFI moduel to borrow so i can test it
gap the plugs down to man to like 1.2mm from 1.5mm may help
i think its a cracked plug... ill advise tonight after i replace them
have you checked your coolant temp sensor with winaldl could be telling the ecu lies my mates one said it was only 35 degrees when the car had been going for ages and it was a pig couldnt rev it it would just stall wouldnt start without cranking hell out of it was just pumping way to much gas in but it was still within operating values so never threw up any error codes post up a datalog if you running winaldl
car does it when its stone cold, dont think its a collant sensor issue
Mine did the exact same when it ran out extractors only when i had to drive to exhaust place... wouldnt build revs properly etc...
Cheers

havent blown the air temp sensor to bits with boost
well i just discovered something disturbing
2 broken leads 1 blown injector o-ring
well it's now a positive pressure induction system (even if it's only a little bit) so I'm not surprised an old O-ring decided to let go when it had air pushing at it instead of being exposed to a mild vacuum all the time. The leads are kind of disturbing though, how are they broken?

nah, i told u i never made much boost man
the o ring was just broken and pushed in, it happens...
it starts now so im on the right track
my theory
blown o-ring = down on fuel pressure = not spooling in load
broken leads = spark + not reving with enough spark so running rich

when i free rev my car, even with the stock fuel pressure reg, the fuel pressure still increased. it has never gone down. not once.a dn i have two fuel pressure gauges. one under the bonnet on the adjustable fuel pressure reg and one in the cabin..
i'd still change your sparkplug gaps to maybe 1.2mm as it takes more juice to fire plugs under boost, you can always take it back out to 1.5mm later etc

Yes, i would close the gaps down on the spark plugs while you are at it. I run mine at 1.0mm with 11psi boost, otherwise there is a good chance the boost will blow the spark out!
cool, can you regap stock ones with a feeler gauge??
yeap. that is what ya use..
