Stupid blinking light

Ok, I asked for your collective knowledge about an imobilizer light that would stay on (when others went out). Now i have noticed that the light is blinking when driving. 5 seconds on then a half second off. The pattern is steady and is not changing.
Possibly at the same time, the indicators don't flash when using the remote to lock/unlock the car. it still functions but without the flash.
Is my car dieing and i have to (dare i say) pay for a GMH dude to play with it?
Please help cause im at the point where the next step is getting rid of it.

my vp immobiliser never has the indicators flash when i turn it on/off.
i didn't know they were meant to.

just noticed on the way to work this morning that the box with a red LED and a white adjustable screw thing unter the dash near the fuses is also not working....
it used to cut out occasionally, but everything still worked.
no nothing light wise....
added info... it has a rihno alarm in it too but its always turned off cause the sensors are way to sensitive.

well the blinking light that was missing (under dash) was found to have a wire that had broken. fixed and its all good.
anyone know what the box is for (see pic)?
