    Default Patching Looms

    Hey all...

As all of you know I've had an Ecotec in my VN for a while now... It's getting to the point where I'm going to Put the Ecotec Loom on the motor & an Ecotec ECU...

Few things I need to know, Can I patch the Ecotec loom/ecu to the VN dash loom/fuses/cluster etc...

I know I'll need to get a modified tune aswell as find a Manual Ecotec ECU to avoid the hassle of the VN Auto.

    Cheers

    Post Be cautious...

From reading other threads in this site, there are some subtle differences in how the ecu talks to the dash electronics - there have been mentions of blowing up dash or computer when mixing and matching dashes with other types of computer (VN/VP <-> VR/VS) - particularly Level 3 dashes.
Greenfoam was modifying VR Memcals for use in the VN ecu and had to fiddle several things, including the speedo pulses per Km value - the story was that the speed signal goes via the dash on its way to the ecu in a VN/VP and the other way around in the VR/VS.
    Just be cautious!

the problem with putting dash's vrom vr/s into vn/p is that the wiring order changed, and in turn would fry the board.
