    Default Win ALDL Tables

    I got my cable working today and took the car for a run. I am starting out by using WinALDL and a lot of it makes instant sense.

    BUT

    What do the BLM INT & O2 tables tell me ? I understand the concept of the rpm/map grid but what do the numbers in the cells tell me ?

    While I know what the O2 sensor does and I would expect the values to vary with rpm & map, I admit to not having a clue what BLM or INT even stand for. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

    Lightbulb BLM & INT info

    BLM = Block Learn Multiplier
    INT = Integrator value

    Essentially as the ecu learns the VE table corrections, these values will change -

    If the particular table cell in use is consistantly rich, the INT value will reduce until the mixture is correct or until it it hits the lower limit, at this point the matching BLM cell will reduce its value by one and the INT cell will be reset to 128.

    If the particular table cell in use is consistantly lean, the INT value will increase until the mixture is correct or untill it it hits upper limit, at this point the matching BLM cell will increase its value by one and the INT cell will be reset to 128.

    This process will continue untill the mixture for the current cell has the correct correction figures or the allowable BLM values hit the programmed limits.

    The BLM function only works when the engine is operating within defined limits (not too hot or cold, etc)

    The ideal situation is that the BLM and INT values for the table cell in use should be 128, if this is not consistently the case, then there is a good argument to reprogram the memcal with VE table entries that match your engines real capabilities, so that the BLM and INT values are as close to 128 as possible.

    For more info, refer to the web page below for a very good explanation of these...
