Remove door handles for spray painting car

Hey Guys,

I'm giving my VN some TLC, and preparing it for a re-spray.

I need to remove the drivers door handle, because some punk had a go prying it out with a screwdriver.

I've taken off the inner door trim. Do i need a Torx/Security screwdriver to remove the latch mechanism, and then disconnect the rod, and pry the handle out?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I noticed a little switch that sits next to the key barrel - when the barrel is turned, it hits the switch and activates the central locking - i reckon the guy who tried to jack my car knew this, was smacking the screwdriver in there trying to knock the switch and cause all the doors to unlock.

um u dont need to take off the latch, pull the lil sliding pin to the side from behind the door handle and the handle falls apart and easy to then remove.

I shall try to take a photo tonight, cause im not 100% about what pin to pull. There is a thin flat piece of metal which sorta looks like a pin. I presume you would pull this towards the left (front of the car), when working on the drivers door?
