VP V8 -> V6 conversion

V8 to V6? I must be crazy
Anyway, my brother inlaw is getting a new car and has decided he wants to keep his V8 & trans out of the VP for a project, and was gunna just chuck the car.
Gets me thinking, why don't I take the car, stick a V6 in it and flog it off.

I'm assuming all I will need is:
V6 engine(with all the stuff hanging off it)
Computer(or just swap the memcal)
V6 loom?
Trans
Headers

Could I just leave the suspension in it? much different really than the V6?
Reckon its worth bothering with for a car that I might get $2000-$2500 for if I'm lucky??
Would it have to go through regency(roadworthy) for an engine swap?
Or, I could take it, part it, then cut it up and take it to Sims for scrap

why not just chuck another V8 into it? you'd prob get a bit more for it and there's nuthin ya gotta change. as ya'd prob hafta change the springs as a V8 would be a bit heavier than a 6 so it would sit higher with a 6 in than with an 8

If you going to put a V6, just go get a VP V6 from the trading post or something, much cheaper.

If you have a v8 car to start with it's fairly cheap and easy to get another V8 in it, it wont cost you anymore than putting a V6 in it and it will be worth much more ,and go better, and sound better

just sell the rest of the car off as a rolling shell .... coz u will never make money if u try and convert it to a six

You could sell the VS and buy a good engine with the money and then have a really fun car

Well looks like I might have to keep my eye out for a V8 at auctions.
Sounds like less hassle just to chuck another V8 in.
I'm getting the car for nothing, so whatever it sells for minus the cost to get it going is profit.
And yeah, if it gets in the too hard basket.. u pull it will still gimme at least $50
