    Default vn ss or stata

fellas, i wanna get either a vn ss or a series 2 vq statesman. which one is better? im on my ps but have checked with vic roads and both are just under the power to weight. the legal limit is 125kw per tonne. both cars weigh a little over 1400kg, with 165 kw. which is worked out to be 118kw per tonne.
so yeah let us know what is better, im likin the ss.

Depends what you are after. The SS is the sports package; bodykit, LSD, FE2, etc where as the stato is the luxo package; climate control, woodgrain trim, lvl 3 dash, etc.
Also weight is a consideration, the VN SS weighs in at 1395kg the stato is 1574kg.

as airstrike said. are you after style or sports? both have the same 5 litre from factory. ss came factory with manual and auto where as statesmans are only auto unless it has been coverted like mine.

i was in the same boat when i was looking at cars. i Picked the Stato in the end. Sure the ss will go faster as its lighter but the stato has lots of cool extras and you can always make it go faster later
Its standard height i swear officer get your tape and check :-)......... pump up faster god dam you!!!

go a statesman. its not hard to change it to manual. plus its not hard to put an lsd in. downside is the irs a bitch when they are lowered. they run the same 5 litre as a vn. standard level 3 dash and o yea climate control.

    All of that add's weight
Plus to convert it to LSD and manual thats like $2K+ on top of the purchase price. Personally who cares about things like climate control........it cools the same weigh but weighs more!

Most of the stato's are fairly rough these days 2.

Seen a nice VQ Caprice with 44000kms on ebay the other week looked in mint condition. That would have been nice to buy

i got a ss and i like most of the interior better front seats are the same and they look better i dont care about back i dont have to sit there i dont care for climate control it just takes up valuable engine bay space hehe. the wires and stuff are all over the place for it. but stato are the best cruiser back seats have HUGE amounts of leg room.

go the statto dude as i think they look much sexier cos they got the wrap around back window which i love and the rear garnish is much better as a vn garnish just looks gay with the number plate in it,
also there us plenty of room, they are a comfy car and they can get up and dance when u want them too just as easy as a ss can do.

and just like FLYEN_VN said it would be alot easier to find a statto that isnt thrashed like just about every vn ss out there

2 k is not much in terms of doing cars up these days. i just like my creature comforts. plus when i put the stroker motor in ill have all the comforts plus the power and the manaul to boot. and why worry about wait when i assume his car is going to be road driven? you can only legally do 100km/h. does it really matter how fast you get there?
