Default scraping sound when shifting into Drive/Rev from Park

    Hey all,

I just started having this issue with my VP Wagon (automatic) today and I'm not quite sure what the problem is.

When I'm at a standstill in Park, and I shift it into drive or reverse there's a loud scraping noise. It sounds similar to that hideous noise a starter makes when you try to start a car that's already running. Once I shift into drive it drives fine, I just get this horrible noise when I move the shifter from Park to drive.

    Any input would be appreciated

Yep, I checked the trans fluid. Looks good, not low and not discoloured. I went for a drive again a little while ago and it stopped making the noise. I have a feeling it'll start up again though soon. I don't see how it could be just a one off thing.

    Weird

Rear trans mount vibrating on the cross member? Check the condition of it by levering the back of the trans up with a screw driver.
