The only difference to the VS SS air box is the hole in the box is bigger to take the bigger tube. I have this on my VS, sits over the radiator like any CAI. If you were going to put a pod down in front anywhere it would have to be in front of the air con condenser and then you would see it. Hanging it down behind the bumper would have a negative effect because the air pressure is actually lower there. I have seen flexi plastic tube moulded into the hole in the side on the bumper where the foglights fit. But this is on a VR/VS.
yea but i reckon their would be a way of gettin it to work, if u had the parts and gettin ur hands in their without it showing

If you want to cut holes in your inner guard you can get a hole saw and cut 4 x 2" holes straight through the bottom of your airbox so it draws the air from straight from in front of the wheel.

That would work, any air intake just needs clean, cool air that has positive pressure.
yea, me and my m8 reckon if done properly this would work like a charm![]()

And gain what over a normal OTR CAI though?
I had this done to my VL, and in my opinion its not worth it when for $50 you can get a VS CAI... Theres only so much air your car needs anyway.

I'm currently rigging up a custom CAI using the standard intake. If it works, it'll have cost me $20 all up.
On a hot day, the air temperature under my bonnet is around 70 degrees, and I approximate I'll be drawing 30 degree air with my CAI, which will heat up to about 40 degrees through the pipe on the way to the TB. That saves me 30 degrees, which I think is worth maybe... 5-9hp in hot weather. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

I had a vp v8. i bought a vs (i think) v8 cold air intake from a holden dealership. comes in two parts. cost around $50. you have to modify your air box alittle bit. you only need a hacksaw. if you have a v6 you have to get the vs supercharged air intake. as the radiator fan sits lower on the v6s as it does on the v8s. had a huge arguement with the 'parts interpetor' with this. at the time (1999) some places were selling the same type of cold air intakes for around $400.
